Research interests:
I am interested in working on studies related to real-time data analysis in general with more focus on visual recognition and machine learning. I like applications related to assitive technology and mobile robotics.
In my research I like to use video camera/ smartphones embedded camera to detect human faces and gestures, road related objects/obstacles, driver behavior and safety aspects .
I like yo use/modify/develop algorithms and techniques related to image processing, pattern recognition and color segmentation, conversion among different color coordinate systems, multi-threshold pixel labeling, opponent color filters, seeded region growing, histogram discriminant analysis, structuring dilation morphology, decision tree classification based on geometrical-features, neighborhood edge tracking, region of interest expansion, random sample consensus, convex hull, principal component analysis subspace method and histogram of oriented gradient features.
What I like most is to use the output of Visual and statistical pattern recognition, Machine learning and Computer vision algorithms in real electronic and robotics applications. For example: Intelligent transportation systems, safety driving applications, collision avoidance in wheel chairs and vehicles, patient/driver monitoring.
